Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. With the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Gracious.
Getting into what we called 'MBBS' is not merely by changing the fb status from 'study at centre of foundation study' to ' mbbs at management and science university' like most of my friends excitedly did in their fb account. yeah, i think a lot, 'what's so great about getting into mbbs program?'
Kata-kata beliaulah yang menyebabkan terlintas di dalam benak fikiranku bahawa the best doctor is a person who just not being an ordinary doctor, but a special one who strongly standing behind her religion(islam) with a strong iman in her heart.
A doctor without iman in his/ heart just like a heavy and beautiful box, without anything useful inside it. The important thing about being a doctor is the usage of your skills and knowledge to treat the patient in order to contribute to our society.and what we need here is a word called 'sincerity'.
Sincerity only comes from a pure heart. The best sincerity that I can define is the sincerity for doing a job only to get His blessings (lillahi taa la). To be a good muslim doctor, YESS, u need that kind of sincerity.
I cant deny doctor is one of the most toughest jobs. Disebabkan itulah niat itu perlu diperbetulkan. If your true intention is all about being rich, then just dont be a one. There's so many careers out there you can choose without such stressful life in the drugs-smelled environment, with the sick people with their weary faces and not to forget, the 'on call' moment where you have to force your eyes to open throughout the nights when the others are having their sweet dreams on their bed. You can choose other careers; with just 3 or 4 years to graduate (compared to the doctors;5 years),with less stressful life in the university with more chance to enjoy yourself as a 'student'. You can be a pilot; with just 3 years of training with just average result of exam (dont need to obtain 4.00 credit) and the salary is well of course...much much greater than the Doctors..
So, what's wrong with all these people cracking their brain out for 5 years studying MBBS? this is not included the time they need to spend during the wee hours of the morning running here and there in the hospital in the emergency unit? and not to mention the average salary treated for the government doctors? Well, this is when the 'sincerity' is greatly needed.
This is just an opinion based on my observation. If money that you want, yes, you can be a rich doctor ( a doctor can also makes a huge sum of money, you know). But it really depends on your intention; if you are sincere (in terms of what i've said above); I believe that you will get both; the Duniya' and the Akhirat(insyaallah)..that's what I believe for right now.
